I don't know the name of the Boy and girl who went to American. They was brother and sister. There parents work for the King of Karlsruhe in the Castle. My wife grandmother Aunt was a Oberst. When she married, I don't know her married name. The Boy and Girl mother was a dresser and the father was a trailer for the King. There was a revolution here in Karlsruhe, The King Friedrich 2 Wilhelm Ludwig Leopold escape to Holland with his Employees, the parents went to Holland with the King. I would like to know whether there are any descendants of my family in Portland Maine. My cousin was a member of the State Senate of Maine - William Gladstone Thomas. The family had emigrated to Portland from Tredegar Wales in the 19th Century. I met Bill and his sister Elizabeth when I stayed in Maine as a small child at their home in Lincoln St. Portland Maine. I also stayed in their two homes at Watchic Lake. I believe Elisabeth was a journalist. I returned to Wales and I believe they both died in the fifties. We had by then unfortunately lost touch. I was a child at the time but treasure my memories of Portland.I remember being shown a bridge with Cousin Bill's name on it. My memories of Watchic Lake are magical. I would love to know where exactly the houses there were. One I remember had a balcony which seemed to stretch into the lake! Another family mystery which I would love to solve as I promised my late mother to do so, is to discover what became of her other cousin Reginald Miles of Tredegar who emigrated to America I believe in the 1920's - again from Wales. His mother was Sarah Thomas, my grandfather's sister. He went, I believe, to Pennsylvania, and I think he had a daughter Patricia ? who was a wonderful accompanist. My mother waved him goodbye when he left Cardiff Station, and sadly the family never heard from him again. My mother wrote to Ninnau, but all to no avail. My last request is to do with the little cemetary which was behind my Cousin Bill's house in Maine. There the mother and sister of the late famous Welsh composer Dr. Joseph Parry are buried, I wonder if anyone now realizes the significance of this. The family referred to the graves as those of "Granny Parry and Auntie Betsy". Is the cemetery still in existence? Many thanks. Diolch yn fawr! Nos da from Wales.
