I have been looking for the parents to my gg grandfather Hugh J. McManus. He was born in Oneida City NY in 1851. He later moved to Minn and married Amanda Working. They settled in Sioux City IA and had a bunch of kids. He died there in 1892. Yours is the only McManus site I have been able to find, and I was sad that I didn't find my Hugh here. Do you know if there are other sites that I might try?

They had one daughter (that I know of) Catherine born in 1856. They eventually ended up in Washtenaw Co. MI. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I find this interesting because my great grandparents immigrated here from Ireland. My great aunt is still living, yet she has not revealed much about her parent's past or voyage and my father does not recall his parents ever talking about such things. They settled in Nebraska before moving to South Dakota. Your site was interesting. Thank you.
