SurnamesWOODRUFF, Enos, Henry , Rebecca Campbell, Edgar, Bertha, Timothy, Hannah FamilyMy Woodruffs were in Cumberland, Bridgeton, Essex, New Jersey until Rebecca moved to Colorado and Wyoming in the late 1800's. I especially want the marriage records for Cumberland for 1854, showing the parents of Henry and Rebecca Campbell Woodruff CommentsI have very little information about this Woodruff, yet I wish to join DAR under Enos Woodruff. Thank you for any help ... this is my first ray of hope.
SurnamesWOODRUFF, Starr, Strong, Hill FamilyI was hoping to find a connection between our lines of Woodruffs, but the connection must be earlier. The Woodruff's I am related to are from Westfield NJ, then migrated to Ohio. Rozelia Woodruff(1830-1907)is the member that I have had the most trouble( attempting to determine if she had siblings). Her parents Jonathan and Rachael (Willis), his parents Samuel and Abigail (Acken), his parents Jonathan and Mary (Hetfield), his parents Abraham and Christina (DeCamp), his parents Daniel and Ann (Price), his parents John, the Elder and Sarah Ogden, his parents John, the Immigrant(1604-1670) and Ann Gosmer or Anna Hyde ( I am still uncertain about this). I have tons of names of siblings on this line if you are interested. CommentsI thought your site was extremely well organized and was exceptional in the way it operated. Thanks for your hard work.

SurnamesWOODRUFF, HANKS, THRAILKILL, CAMPBELL FamilyI think my ancestor line goes from Timothy to Enos to Henry, married to Rebecca Campbell, to daughter Anna Louella Woodruff, to son Charles Woodruff Hanks. All of them lived in Cumberland County, New Jersey until Anna Louella married William Carroll Hanks in Denver, Colorado in 1884. Her mother, Rebecca Campbell Woodruff then moved to Wyoming to live with another daughter until her death in 1933. I have no information on Henry Woodruff born about 1833, except that he died in Bridgeton, N.J. in 1898. CommentsThis looks like a wonderful source of information, although I have not been able to make any connection thus far. Thanks for any info!

SurnamesWOODRUFF, Clark FamilyFirst off I just want to mention that I am just beginning my genealogy search....I really don't know much at all. My great-grandfather's name was Marion Francis Woodruff, which is a name that has been passed down in my family. My grandfather's name was Henry Etter Woodruff, and he was born in a small town of Rogers, near Temple, Texas. He was a farmer and fought in the Korean War. My father, Danny Henry Woodruff has some old photo albums, one of the pictures is a blue eyed man who fought for the south in the Civil War. I know he is a relative of mine because I have the same blue eyes. In fact, my grandfather had the same steely blue eyes as well. My grandfather married Rayma Joy Clark whose ancestors can be traced to the Pennsylvania Dutch. They met in Watervliet, Michigan, settled there for awhile and had three kids. Both are buried in Rogers. That's really all that I know so far. CommentsIt definitely encourages me!
SurnamesWOODRUFF, Mina, Charles Delbert, Theodore Freelinghuyson FamilyMy grandma Mina Woodruff lived in Lakeville, NY and married Raymond Mc Combs and lived in Caledonia, NY. Her father was Charles & his Father Theodore Freelinghuyson. I can trace back to Matthew from CT. CommentsThank-you for doing this site. I've enjoyed looking at all Woodruff sites.
SurnamesWOODRUFF, FamilyI am also researching Woodruffs in NJ, although I think we are on different lines. I have a Benjamin Woodruff,b.c1680 in Elizabethtown. He had a James Woodruff,b.28 Sept. 1712 in Elizabethtown. James had a Benjamin Woodruff, b. 26 Nov 1744 in Hanover Twp., Morris, NJ. The list goes on! My moms maiden name is Woodruff.
SurnamesWOODRUFF, DECAMP FamilyI am interested in any information concerning the children and further descendants of Abraham Woodruff and Christina DeCamp of Elizabeth, NJ. The only information I have been able to find on this family is his will. From NJ Wills and Administrations, vol. II - 1730-1750, pg. 544, the will of Abraham Woodruff of the Borough of Elizabeth, Essex Co., a cordwainer, was dated August 1, 1750. It mentions his children, Jonathan, Benjamin and Sarah Woodruff. The executors were his wife, Christian and Mr. Thomas Scudder. Witnesses were Jon. Louve, John DeCamp and Laughlin Fallon. The will was proved October 25, 1750.
SurnamesWOODRUFF, DECKER, WADE, MABEY, MABIE, MAYBE, WESTERVELT, FamilyTHE WOODRUFF CHRONICLES SAYS THAT THE EARLIEST KNOWN IN US WOODRUFF IS JOHN WOODRUFF AND HIS WIFE HANNAH NEWTON. John is said to have been born, 1650 and died 1703. My Woodruff name is extensively been found in New Jersey in the upper part of the state. Our line goes John, Joseph, Benjamin, Joseph, Cornelius and then his daughter Mahala. Cornelius emigrates to West Milford, NJ. It would be so great to get to know some more about the rest of my ancestry especially about Cornelius Woodruff 1797-1864. CommentsThanks for the site and it is so clear to read and follow generation after generation. |
